My Room Tour

This has been a long time coming, but here it is... My Room Tour! This is a very personal post for me, as my room is my safe and sacred place. I have had lots of good, funny and interesting memories in this room. I think my room is slightly quirky as it is very cluttered and doesn't have a colour scheme. But if you haven't seen my post on minimalism, I am hoping to go through the clutter in order to make it a much more mindful place. I am already half way through the process, but there is still a fair bit to get through. So this is my room at the moment; I hope you like it! Remember to comment your thoughts.

Minimalism - there are lots of different categories to minimalism. But to me it means that you're mindful of all the things you have and the things you surround yourself with. It helps create a stronger belief of the idea - you don't have too much; you just have to have enough.

Recently I have been watching multiple YouTube videos on minimalism and have been looking into on a deeper scale and have began to fall in love with the concept. For me personally when I have to many things in my life, I begin to feel weighed down and stressed. So when I came across this act I immediately wanted to give it ago to see where it takes me. But instead of doing it on my own I have decided to take you on this journey with me.

I think minimalism is such a great way to create a more appreciative and peaceful life. By removing the objects, people and things from your life I feel like it will help create serenity in an average persons hectic life. Therefore I have decided to dedicate myself to this and keep you updated with a series of my journey, a long with tips and tricks I pick up along the way.

Skincare Tag

How many times do you wash your face daily?
To be completely honest with you I don’t wash my face every day. I do however remove any make-up that I had been wearing throughout the day. I tend to wash my face every other or every couple of days.

What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
I’m not entirely sure on what skin type I am. I tend to go with normal skin with an oily T zone.

What is your current facial wash?
My current face wash is by simple and is called…

Do you exfoliate?
I used to exfoliate every time I washed my face however now I tend to not really exfoliate as it seemed to be damaging my skin a little bit.

What brand do you use?
I don’t stick to a specific brand when it comes to skincare. I use a mixture of different brands such as Vaseline, Dove, Clean and Clear, Simple etc…

What moisturiser do you use?
As for a skincare product that use all over my body would be the Palmer's Coco butter however on my face I use Clean and Clears ….. but I hardly use it. Also I use Vaseline’s hand and nail moisturiser for my hands and this is by far the best and something I use religiously.

Do you have freckles?
Yes! I felt insecure about them growing up but now I have learnt to embrace them.

Do you use eye cream?
Nope! I tend to either use a cooling eye mask or cucumbers to rejuvenate my eyes and reduce dark circles.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Luckily I hardly ever get spots and I am very thankful for this.

Did you ever have to use Pro-active?
Nope, I haven’t yet.

Me Time Tag

What do you like to watch or read during me-time?
I enjoy to catch up on YouTube videos and if I feel like reading it will usually be the book I’m currently reading which is “What I Saw and How I Lied”

What do you wear during me-time?
Normally PJ's or an all in one you can never go wrong with comfort.

What are your favourite me-time beauty products?
It will probably be the Vaseline hand moisturiser. It leaves your hand silky smooth and the product soaks in straight away.

Current favourite nail polish?
At the moment I have been experimenting with different colours and products but currently I am wearing light pink Jack Wills.

What do you eat or drink during me-time?
I normally grab myself a cup of tea, nothing to fancy.

Current favourite candle?
At the moment I haven’t got a favourite candle. I am using plain candles that I got for Christmas.

Do you ever have outdoor me-time?
Yes! I think it is essential to spend me-time outside. It helps to clear your head.

Would you ever go and watch a film alone?
I haven’t yet, but if there was something I really wanted to watch and no one to go with, yeah.

Favourite online shop?
Unfortunately I don’t shop online.

Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?
When I manage to get me-time I try to meditate. I think this is something I am going to try to develop into my daily routine it is a great way to understand yourself.

Eucryl Toothpowder

This may seem a slightly weird post for this blog, however I have been wanting to do this post for a very long time as this has got to be one of the best products I have used. I was first introduced to this product by my Dad and curious about what he was saying about it I had to give it a try and fell in love.

For those of you who are unsure on what this tooth powder is, it is basically a stain remover. Surprisingly sometimes in order to have whiter teeth you only need to remove the stains on your teeth. I use this product once to twice a week along with my regular toothpaste as recommend on the packet. I don't recommend using this product any more than that as it can leave your teeth a little more sensitive if you use it over the recommended amount. It removes stains of many things such as smoking, drinking tea, coffee or even red wine. I find that after using this product on a regular basis my teeth appear at least two shades whiter than before.

It is also fairly straight forward to use. Normally I find that with stain removers and whitening products they can be a bit confusing to use. However for this product, you just dip your damp toothbrush into the pot (where it will add a satisfying clump to your brush) and then brush your teeth as usual. It is as simple as that!

As Eucryl isn't as well known as other brands I thought I'd do some research on them for you. It is a company that has been creating affordable stain removal products since the 1900. Although it may not seem like it, it is a well known product world wide.

Another good thing about this product is that it is only £1 in majority of stores. Also if you're not a big fan of fresh mint flavour you can also get the tooth powder in strawberry flavour. But I haven't tried that version yet as I prefer the fresh breath that this product leaves.

Have you tried this product before? Leave your opinions in the comments.

Welcome 2016

2016: a new year, a new start. I am so excited to be starting 2016 and being able to have a fresh new start with new goals I want to achieve. For new years I went to my friends house with a few friends and celebrated the new year and to be honest it really made me excited for what this year will holds. I know it's not all going to be fun and games as not everyday is, but I am looking forward to the experiences and new memories that this year will create.

I already have some fun things planned for this year, such as my birthday and a Matt and Kim gig. So already I know that this is going to be full of experiences I have not yet had. Unlike other years, this year I have started on a clean slate by erasing many negative people out of my life for good. I think this is a vital tip for a fresh new start to anything. Negative people tend to always hold you back and knock your positivity and motivation.

I don't necessarily like to create the new year resolutions. However I do create a bucket list in my head of things I would like to do or get out of this year as well as creating more of a new year motivation of things that I want to pursue that year. 2016 is going to be the year of positive vibes, well-being and happiness. For me a big factor of this is to stop comparing myself to others whether that is by their success or their appearance. Everyone is unique and every ones story is different. Your bad chapter could be some ones good chapter and your good chapter could be some ones bad chapter. I think in order for me to get the most of this year I need to focus on appreciating life a little bit more.

I hope you all had a wonderful new years eve whether that was a quiet night in or a wild night out and I wish you all the best in 2016 and look forward to sharing my year with you. Good luck.
